Envy the Dead

from Wielding Metal Massacre by Swordwielder

lyrics

Under the palm trees at the shore of a sun-drenched beach
The glasses are raised high, high up into the cloudless sky
A celebration, a victory for those who fought and won
The defeated opponent lies battered on the ground

The orders are given from the highest command
The instructions are crystal clear kill an-other man
The Warlords demands more blood just to keep them alive
These are beasts not human, easy logic, barbaric style
Their battle cries echoes to butcher and butcher and butcher again
Primal instinct savage beyond compare

The men here gathered, raw power in its purest form
They control these battlefields, its duration and shape

And they control an army since long fallen from grace
A soulless militia who does it just for the cash
Their commanders in chief roaming the lands all free
Sipping Bacardi at the shore of a sun drenched beach
As the burial grounds and the corpses beneath
Already forgotten as the warmachine marches on

The living shall envy the dead in the final hour
They don´t give a damn about life in their quest for power
The body count rises and does so for each passing day
Its getting hard to breathe and keep the foul stench away
We have learnt nothing and repeat the horrors again
Slaughter.. of the innocent, just a game for them to play
The architects of war, safe and sound as ever before
Their glasses are raised high, high up into cloudless skies

They try to drag you into battle – resist, defy, refuse
Not today, not tomorrow but your day will come
Soon all that is left is the eternal war
Fought on never ending battlefields
Can we defend ourselves against the all-consuming warmachine
