Beneath a Blood Red Sky

from Wielding Metal Massacre by Swordwielder

lyrics

Light is fading fast over this pockmarked countryside.
We’re making good time to nowhere, anywhere. Wherever that may be.
Well, nothing matters anyway, we have no rush to the end.
Shadows grow longer, to end the futile conquest of the sun.
Soon it’s just the headlights, as the highway, lulls our weary souls.
Steering our thoughts free from realityas we intoxicate ourselfs into oblivion.
Making petty jokes about our future and past, knowing damn well we can have neither.
Grinding teeths mumbling horrors in a drunken madness,as I see carrion crows circle us above.
It won’t be long now, but now is all we have, in a haze, as we cry we keep on laughing.
At the dead of night we fear the light.

Above us an endless sky with no gods to guide our path
We didn’t ask for much just the world set ablaze and burn
To twist and turn, reborn in fire
For a new beginning, free of suffering, free from pain

But we witnessed their power
No dreams where ever achieved
The speed in our veins is decreasing
And the ale don´t work as before

Their claws are tearing the flesh from our naked bodies
How can one live in a state of eternal confusion
Where freedom has chains and snares
and where life lost its meaning
How.. can we ever survive an endless winter

Cause they have wielded their power
Destroyed what could have been
As the speed in our veins is decreasing
And the ale has gone sour and foul

The thrones are besieged by a mighty foe
Who built their castles upon sacrificed bones
Still there is tension in the ranks that shakes the foundation
Still there is light in the dark that one day will drown them in fire
